Resident of the Month
It is an honor to have Dorothy as our Renaissance Village Murrieta‘s Resident of the Month for April. She is an active part of our community and she looks forward to all morning exercises and various arts and craft classes.
Two times a week, we get to see Dorothy’s talent as she plays the piano. We have seen and enjoyed watching as other residents round her up by the piano to sing songs.
Dorothy loves most kinds of music and her favorite singer is Neil Diamond. Her favorite restaurant is Olive Garden and her favorite movie of all time is Gone with the Wind. Dorothy recalls seeing it several times when it came out and enjoys it.
With this in mind, we put together a special Gone with the Wind Viewing Party. We rolled out the red carpet and gave residents the real celebrity feel.
Our hallway was decorated with a fun backdrop that gave residents the chance to take photos with one another. In addition, wear big hats like the ones Scarlett O’Hara wore in the movie. Our Americana Bar was decorated with banners and beautiful frames and tablecloths. Residents also enjoyed treats inspired by the movie such as French macaroons, eclairs, paninis, and mimosas.
In addition, followed by the reception, residents moved the party into our cinema where they ate freshly popped popcorn and got cozy in recliners.
